How CanadaNIL Works

A unique legal framework makes CanadaNIL possible — and powerful. Here's how it works:

U.S. F-1 visa rules prohibit international athletes from working in the United States. Through the Home Country Rule, Canadian athletes can legally earn NIL compensation by returning to Canada to perform active work — and CanadaNIL makes it all compliant and seamless.

CanadaNIL partners with US-based university NIL collectives representing elite Canadian Division I athletes, connecting them to a curated database of Canadian-based work opportunities tailored to their demanding schedules. CanadaNIL manages all operational logistics, including the creation of formal temporary work agreements for the student-athlete with NIL Collective input. The agreements adhere to fair-wage benchmarks established by the College Sports Commission at NILGO, ensuring that student-athletes receive proper compensation upon successful completion of each engagement.
